Moving into a newly renovated home is the perfect opportunity to build intentional organization from the ground up. For this family, their beautifully designed kitchen and spacious basement storage room needed structure to support their everyday routines—without clutter or unnecessary backstock. By creating functional zones, using smart storage solutions, and focusing only on what they truly use, we helped them establish an intuitive system that keeps their home organized and effortless to maintain.
A Thoughtfully Designed Kitchen & Basement Storage
BEFORE: The Kitchen Setup

Unlike many families who accumulate a backstock of groceries, this family had a refreshingly intentional approach: they preferred to meal plan and shop as needed, avoiding excess. Having lived out of boxes during their move, they were also highly aware of what they actually used and valued. Our role was to ensure their new kitchen was set up for success—organized in a way that made sense for their lifestyle, with clear zones that would support both daily cooking and entertaining.

AFTER: A Functional Kitchen

We focused on setting up intentional zones that aligned with their habits and needs:
One of the biggest advantages of this project was that there were no pre-existing bad habits or clutter to work around. We had the opportunity to think through their daily routines and establish a setup that felt intuitive from the start.
The Basement Storage Room
While the kitchen was a fresh start, the basement storage room had quickly become a catch-all space—things had been moved in but not yet truly organized. With built-in shelving already in place, the challenge was to create a functional storage system that kept items easily accessible while eliminating the feeling of clutter spilling out.

We measured the shelves carefully to ensure that storage bins would fit efficiently, choosing clear Target Room Essentials bins with labels to maintain visibility and structure. The space was then divided into clear, purposeful categories.
By giving each item a designated home, we transformed the basement from a dumping ground into an organized, functional storage space that worked seamlessly for their family.
