Transforming a Cluttered Primary Bathroom into a Functional Wellness Hub

The client had a spacious primary bathroom packed with cabinets, but the storage lacked structure. Every drawer and shelf was overflowing with supplements, home healthcare items, and homeopathic medicines—creating a stockpile that had become overwhelming.

The client, knowledgeable about wellness and preventative care, had accumulated a significant supply of vitamins and remedies, especially post-COVID. However, without a system in place, items were often forgotten, leading to unnecessary overstocking and frustration when searching for essentials.

Our Approach: Creating Order & Functionality

THE BIG SORT

During the sorting process, we identified two major categories:

  • Wellness & Preventative Care: Everyday supplements, vitamins, essential oils, and homeopathic remedies used to maintain health.

  • Sick Care & First Aid: Medications, treatments, and supplies needed when someone in the household wasn’t feeling well.

Taking inspiration from pediatric doctors’ offices—where sick and well areas are kept separate—we implemented a similar system within the cabinets.

AFTER

We designed a streamlined storage system to enhance visibility, accessibility, and efficiency in daily routines. Turntables and tiered shelves in the wellness zone made oils, tinctures, and supplements easy to see and prevented duplicate purchases. A dedicated sick care closet with labeled bins ensured first-aid and medications were readily available in urgent moments. To prevent overbuying, backstock was organized near primary supplies without encouraging excess. Additionally, feminine products were placed within easy reach, and a strategic makeup station kept frequently used items accessible while minimizing clutter.

The Result: A Bathroom That Works Smarter, Not Harder

By creating intentional zones, optimizing storage solutions, and reducing unnecessary stockpiling, we transformed this bathroom into a well-organized, functional space. Now, the client can:

  • Easily find what they need without rummaging through clutter.

  • Maintain a balanced inventory—stocked but not overstocked.

  • Feel at ease knowing that both wellness and sick-care essentials are exactly where they should be.
