Transforming an “Everything Closet” into an Organized Utility Space
This closet sat between the living room and kitchen, leaving its purpose unclear—was it a pantry? A utility closet? A storage room? Instead, it became a catch-all for miscellaneous household items like gift wrap, kitchen essentials, cleaning supplies, and entertaining items.
The homeowner was embarrassed by the space, often hoping guests wouldn’t open the door—especially since its location made it easy to mistake for a bathroom! While the rest of the home was beautifully curated, this one chaotic closet felt out of place.
BEFORE

THE BIG SORT
Everything was pulled out, categorized, and assigned a proper home.

Strategic Product Selection:
We used clear bins from Target’s Brightroom collection to create a streamlined, functional system that made it easy to grab and restock items.
An over-the-door organizer (dubbed the “junk door”) was added for quick-access essentials like furniture pads, lighters, tape, and small household items that didn’t quite fit on the shelves.

The Result:
This once-avoided space is now a highly functional, well-organized storage area that blends seamlessly into the home. No more stress about guests opening the door—this closet is now a thoughtfully designed utility hub that makes daily tasks easier while keeping clutter out of sight.
